Human Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C4 (AKR1C4) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a sandwich-format ELISA kit for the quantitative detection of human Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C4 (AKR1C4). The colorimetric assay is reactive with human serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. The reported detection range is 0.156–10 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 3.6% and inter-assay CV is 7.6%.

Linearity was evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16. Serum recovery averaged 99% (range 93–105%) and plasma recovery averaged 101% (range 95–107%). The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human AKR1C4.

AKR1C4 is a monomeric cytoplasmic enzyme of the aldo/keto reductase superfamily (UniProt P17516) that converts dihydrotestosterone to 5-alpha-androstan-3-alpha,17-beta-diol and shows 20-alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase activity. It also reduces the pesticide chlordecone to its corresponding alcohol. Research area: cardiovascular. The product is for research use only.
