Human Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C3 (AKR1C3) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the detection of human Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C3 (AKR1C3). It is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and uses a colorimetric detection method. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human AKR1C3.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.088 ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is 6.2% CV and inter-assay precision is 9.9% CV. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum (104–114% at 1:2, 107–116% at 1:4, 100–113% at 1:8 and 100–108% at 1:16), EDTA plasma (101–110%, 109–119%, 100–110% and 102–113%) and heparin plasma (96–107%, 102–111%, 93–103% and 100–110%). Recovery values average 107% (range 101–113%) for serum and 109% (range 103–115%) for plasma.

AKR1C3 is a cytoplasmic enzyme (UniProt P42330) that catalyzes the conversion of aldehydes and ketones to alcohols, reduces prostaglandin D2, PGH2 and phenanthrenequinone, and functions as a bi-directional 3-alpha-, 17-beta- and 20-alpha hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase. It preferentially transforms androstenedione to testosterone and is implicated in steroid hormone metabolism and related disorders. For research use only.
