Human ALDH5A1 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie enables the in vitro quantitative determination of human ALDH5A1 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. ALDH5A1, also known as succinic semialdehyde dehydrogenase (SSADH), is a mitochondrial NAD+-dependent enzyme that catalyses one step in the degradation of the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and is described as crucial for maintaining proper brain function.

The assay uses a colorimetric sandwich ELISA, double antibody detection method, with a stated sensitivity of 46.875pg/ml and a measuring range of 78.125-5000pg/ml. Reactivity is human and the kit is for research use only. Storage is at 4°C for 6 months.

Recovery was assessed by spiking matrices with the target analyte: serum (n=5) ranged 95-102% (average 98%), EDTA plasma (n=5) ranged 85-105% (average 93%), and UFH plasma (n=5) ranged 93-105% (average 98%).
