Human ALDH2/Mitochondrial Aldehyde Dehydrogenase  ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH2), an enzyme central to aldehyde oxidation, alcohol metabolism and cellular detoxification. The assay uses a double-antibody, colorimetric format and is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Sensitivity is quoted at 0.188 ng/mL with a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL, and unopened kit components are stored at 2–8 °C for 12 months.

ALDH2 has been linked through activity variations to cardiovascular disease, cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, making the kit a useful research tool across these areas. Protocols follow a standard sandwich workflow: reagent and plate preparation, primary incubation at 37 °C for 90 minutes, biotinylated detection antibody for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after adding stop solution.

Reported linearity values across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions range from 81% to 105%. Recovery averages 96% in serum, 95% in EDTA plasma and 97% in heparin plasma, with recovery ranges of 85–105%, 85–105% and 85–100%, respectively.
