Human Aldehyde dehydrogenase, mitochondrial (ALDH2) ELISA Kit

This colorimetric sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The assay detects natural and recombinant human ALDH2 and is intended for research use only.

Key performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.12 ng/mL. Precision has been evaluated with an intra-assay CV of 6.2% and an inter-assay CV of 10.5%. Linearity was validated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across serial dilutions, with recovery reported at an average of 101% for serum (range 95–107%) and 103% for plasma (range 97–109%).

ALDH2 is a key mitochondrial matrix enzyme of the aldehyde dehydrogenase family, functioning as a homotetramer and playing a central role in alcohol metabolism, oxidative stress response, and detoxification. Variations in ALDH2 activity have been associated with acute alcohol sensitivity and increased susceptibility to certain cancers and cardiovascular disorders, making the kit relevant to signal transduction research and broader studies of metabolic and disease processes.
