Human Alcohol Dehydrogenase/ADH1A ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a sandwich ELISA, double-antibody platform designed for the quantitative measurement of alcohol dehydrogenase 1A (ADH1A) in human samples. The colorimetric assay accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and uses a TMB substrate read at 450 nm.

Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is given as 91-102% / 89-101% / 87-104% for serum (n=5), 90-101% / 82-100% / 87-99% for EDTA plasma (n=5) and 81-93% / 82-95% / 86-95% for heparin plasma (n=5). Spike-and-recovery is 87-96% (average 91%) in serum, 86-96% (average 90%) in EDTA plasma and 89-104% (average 97%) in heparin plasma. The kit is stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

ADH1A catalyses the conversion of ethanol to acetaldehyde, and the kit is positioned by the manufacturer for research into alcohol metabolism, alcohol-related disorders, gene-environment interactions and personalised medicine.
