ADH1A is an enzyme that plays a key role in alcohol metabolism, particularly the breakdown of ethanol in the liver, and is associated with alcohol tolerance and dependence, making it a relevant biomarker for studying alcohol-related disorders. The assay provides a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL with a reported sensitivity of 0.1ng/mL. Precision values include an intra CV of 3.7% and an inter CV of 7.9%. Specificity is directed against natural and recombinant human Alcohol dehydrogenase 1A. Recovery has been validated in serum at an average of 98% (range 92-104%) and in plasma at 100% (range 94-106%).
