Activated Leukocyte Cell Adhesion Molecule (ALCAM), also called CD166, is a 110 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily that mediates homophilic (ALCAM-ALCAM) and heterophilic cell-cell adhesion. This Assay Genie ELISA Kit provides a quantitative immunoassay workflow for measuring soluble human ALCAM in research samples, supporting studies of immune cell interaction, angiogenesis, tumor invasion and metastatic spread.

Configured for ninety-six assays per kit, the microplate is pre-coated with capture antibody and ships with biotinylated detection antibody, a streptavidin-HRP conjugate, TMB substrate for colorimetric readout, wash buffer, standard diluent and a recombinant human ALCAM calibrator series. Intended for in vitro research use only, it accepts cell culture supernatant along with plasma-derived and serum-derived starting material. Unopened kit components should be refrigerated at 4 degrees C, while reconstituted standards and biotinylated detection reagent are best kept frozen in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw degradation.

Each plate is read on a standard microplate reader and ALCAM concentrations are interpolated from the included standard curve.
