This Assay Genie ELISA quantifies human Alanyl-tRNA Synthetase (AlaRS, encoded by AARS1) in clinical research samples. AlaRS is a ubiquitously expressed aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase that catalyzes the attachment of L-alanine to its cognate tRNA during translation, and the protein has attracted renewed interest because AARS1 also functions as a secreted alanine sensor and signaling molecule that modulates macrophage immune responses.

The pre-coated microplate uses a capture antibody specific to human AlaRS, and bound analyte is detected using a HRP-conjugated secondary antibody with a TMB substrate. Researchers apply this kit to investigate AARS1 expression in cancer biomarker studies, to explore connections between AARS1 mutations and inherited peripheral neuropathies such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2N, and to probe circulating AlaRS levels in immune and metabolic research.
