The Assay Genie Human AKR1CL2 ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of the aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C-like 2 protein in research samples. AKR1CL2, also known as AKR1E2, is a cytosolic enzyme involved in bile acid and steroid metabolism pathways, supporting investigations in hepatic and endocrine biochemistry.

Each kit contains a pre-coated microplate, calibrated recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, and streptavidin-HRP conjugate sufficient for 96 determinations. The protocol uses 100 uL of sample per well and produces an absorbance-based signal read on a standard plate reader. The capture antibody is human-specific, with no significant cross-reactivity reported against analogous rodent reductases. Reconstituted reagents should be refrigerated and aliquoted to limit freeze-thaw cycles, while the sealed microplate pouch should be equilibrated to room temperature before opening.
