AKR1C4 is a member of the aldo-keto reductase family and participates in steroid hormone metabolism and prostaglandin synthesis; its dysregulation has been associated with cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and reproductive health conditions, making the kit useful for studies of disease pathology and potential therapeutic targets. Linearity at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions was 89–103%/89–105%/85–99% for serum, 85–101%/82–95%/92–98% for EDTA plasma, and 81–95%/88–96%/81–99% for heparin plasma (n=5 each). Average recoveries were 97% for serum (range 89–105%), 93% for EDTA plasma (range 85–105%) and 98% for heparin plasma (range 87–105%).
