A cytoplasmic immunophilin-like chaperone for the aryl hydrocarbon receptor, AIP (alternatively called ARA9 or XAP2) sits at the crossroads of xenobiotic detoxification and pituitary tumor biology, and Assay Genie's quantitative immunoassay provides a 96 Assays format workflow for measuring the protein in human serum or plasma specimens. Loss-of-function variants in the AIP gene are a recognized susceptibility factor in familial isolated pituitary adenoma, particularly somatotroph and lactotroph tumors, which has driven translational demand for reliable circulating measurements of the protein. Beyond pituitary genetics, the assay is relevant to toxicology and endocrinology research, where AIP's role in retaining the AhR complex in its inactive state and assisting the maturation of several nuclear-receptor and phosphodiesterase clients is widely studied. The kit ships with a pre-coated microplate, colorimetric readout performed on a standard plate reader, and reagents intended for research use only, following standard solid-phase immunoassay steps familiar to most laboratories.
