The Human AHCYL1 ELISA Kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of Adenosylhomocysteinase 2 (also known as IRBIT or SAHH2), a ~60 kDa cytoplasmic enzyme that hydrolyzes S-adenosylhomocysteine into adenosine and homocysteine. By regulating the cellular methylation cycle, AHCYL1 influences DNA methylation, one-carbon metabolism, and—in its IRBIT role—inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor signaling and intracellular calcium handling.

This research use only kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, chromogenic substrate, stop solution, and wash buffer. Typical applications include studies of homocysteine metabolism, hepatocellular carcinoma, neural differentiation, ion channel regulation, and biomarker discovery.
