Human Agouti Related Protein (AGRP) ELISA Kit

Researchers investigating appetite regulation and energy balance can quantify agouti related protein (AGRP) concentrations with this Assay Genie ELISA, which provides a matched capture-and-detection antibody pair pre-immobilized on a microplate and all reagents needed to perform 96 assays in parallel. AGRP is a neuropeptide secreted by neurons of the hypothalamic arcuate nucleus that acts as an endogenous antagonist at melanocortin MC3R and MC4R receptors, driving food intake and a positive energy balance. Studies of obesity, metabolic syndrome, anorexia, cachexia, and central feeding circuitry use AGRP measurements to track changes across experimental cohorts and dietary interventions.

The kit is calibrated specifically for the human AGRP sequence and is reactive with prepared human liquid samples. Each pack contains the pre-coated plate, biotinylated detection reagent, recombinant human AGRP standards, concentrated wash and assay buffers, enzyme conjugate, chromogenic substrate, and stop solution. A standard curve is generated on every plate from the included calibrators, and unknown sample concentrations are interpolated against that curve within the same assay run.
