Human AGMAT ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of agmatinase (AGMAT) in human samples. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich configuration with colorimetric detection and is intended for research applications in the study of metabolism.

The kit has been validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and a detection range of 0.781–50 ng/mL. Linearity was assessed across 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions, while recovery averaged 96% (range 94–98%) for serum, 95% (range 86–105%) for EDTA plasma, and 94% (range 93–96%) for heparin plasma across five replicates each. Reagents should be stored at 2–8°C, under which conditions the kit remains stable for up to 12 months.

Agmatinase (UniProt Q9BSE5), also known as agmatine ureohydrolase (AUH), is a mitochondrial enzyme involved in agmatine metabolism. Dysregulation of AGMAT has been linked to diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer, making it a biomarker of interest for metabolic research and the development of potential therapeutic interventions.
