Human Aggrecan core protein (ACAN) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed to detect levels of aggrecan core protein in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It is intended for research use only and reacts with natural and recombinant human Aggrecan core protein (ACAN). Changes in aggrecan levels have been linked to conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other joint disorders, and the kit may aid research into cartilage biology and related musculoskeletal disorders.

The kit employs a colorimetric detection method. It delivers a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.23ng/mL. Reported precision figures are an Intra CV of 4.9% and an Inter CV of 8.1%.

Linear dilution performance is reported across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, while recovery in serum averages 82% (range 80-88%) and in plasma 84% (range 80-90%). Aggrecan is a major component of the extracellular matrix of cartilaginous tissues, where it resists compression in cartilage and binds hyaluronic acid via an N-terminal globular region. The kit is supplied as a solid phase format, with storage at -20°C and shipping at +4°C.
