Human Afamin ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the detection of human afamin in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. According to the manufacturer, afamin is a protein involved in physiological processes including vitamin E transport and antioxidant activities, and published studies have associated afamin levels with cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and neurological disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for research and clinical studies.

The protocol involves equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, loading standards and samples for a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, adding a biotin-labeled detection antibody for 60 minutes, binding HRP-streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes, developing with TMB substrate in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and reading absorbance at 450 nm. Reported linearity for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions ranges from 82% to 105%. Average recovery is 94% for serum, 99% for EDTA plasma, and 96% for heparin plasma. The kit is supplied for storage at 2-8°C for 12 months.
