Human ADV-IgM (adenovirus-Immunoglobulin M) ELISA Kit (HUFI04707)

Built around a μ-chain capture (trapping) ELISA format with colorimetric readout, this Assay Genie kit enables serological identification of adenovirus-specific immunoglobulin M antibodies in human clinical specimens during the acute or recent phase of adenoviral infection. Anti-human IgM antibodies pre-coated on the microplate first capture total IgM from the patient specimen; adenovirus-specific IgM is then revealed by incubation with adenovirus antigen and an enzyme-labeled secondary reagent.

The trapping configuration reduces interference from rheumatoid factor and non-specific IgG binding that can complicate direct antigen-coating ELISAs, while IgM serology adds complementary information to PCR and viral culture for respiratory, conjunctival, and gastrointestinal adenoviral disease. The kit is configured for 96 Assays and is intended for use with patient-derived serum or plasma specimens. Reagents are for in vitro diagnostic or research workflows, and laboratories should validate performance against their reference population and consider parallel molecular testing in immunocompromised patients.
