The Beta-1 adrenergic receptor (ADRB1) is a cardiac-enriched G-protein coupled receptor that mediates chronotropic and inotropic responses to endogenous catecholamines and serves as the molecular target of clinically important beta-blockers. Research on ADRB1 expression and signaling underpins studies in heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmia mechanisms, and pharmacogenomics, particularly regarding the well-characterized Arg389Gly polymorphism that alters receptor coupling efficiency.

This quantitative two-antibody ELISA from Assay Genie is supplied with pre-coated microplate wells, lyophilized standards, detection antibody, and substrate reagents sufficient for 96 individual determinations. The assay is calibrated against recombinant human ADRB1 and is intended for research use only, providing a standard-curve based readout compatible with conventional microplate readers. Researchers can apply the kit to investigate receptor abundance in cardiac-derived cell models and to profile ADRB1 levels in circulating specimens collected from human donors.

Practical applications include monitoring changes in receptor expression following pharmacological interventions, comparing ADRB1 levels between patient cohorts in cardiovascular studies, and characterizing receptor dynamics in cell culture models of cardiomyocyte biology. Reagents are shipped refrigerated; store the kit cold prior to first use, then aliquot reconstituted standards and keep frozen between runs to limit repeated freeze-thaw stress. Bring all components to room temperature before initiating the assay workflow.
