ADP-Ribosyl Cyclase 2 (also known as CD38) is a bifunctional ectoenzyme that converts nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) into cyclic ADP-ribose (cADPR) and hydrolyzes cADPR to ADP-ribose, linking nicotinamide metabolism to intracellular calcium signaling in immune cells. Quantitative measurement of human CD38 supports research in lymphocyte activation, plasma cell differentiation, HIV entry biology, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, metabolic disorders, and age-related immune decline.

This colorimetric immunoassay from Assay Genie ships with a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, recombinant standard, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, chromogenic substrate, and wash buffer, and uses 100 µL of sample per well. The assay is calibrated against recombinant human CD38 with no significant cross-reactivity against mouse or rat orthologs. Researchers commonly pair the assay with flow cytometry validation, immunohistochemistry on lymphoid tissue, or western blot confirmation when profiling CD38 expression across B-cell, T-cell, and NK-cell populations. To preserve reagent activity, freeze-thaw cycles of the standard and detection antibody should be minimized and small aliquots prepared for repeated use. The kit is intended for research use only and is not approved for clinical diagnostic procedures.
