The ADRP target, also known as perilipin 2 (PLIN2) or adipophilin, is a lipid droplet-associated coat protein abundant in mature adipocytes, hepatocytes, macrophages, and several epithelial cell types. Measuring ADRP levels supports research into lipid metabolism, obesity, insulin resistance, hepatic steatosis, foam cell biology in atherosclerosis, and tumor models where intracellular lipid storage is altered. Researchers commonly apply this panel to compare ADRP expression between treated and untreated cell cultures, in patient-derived tissue homogenates, and in lipoprotein-enriched plasma fractions.

Each Assay Genie kit is supplied as a complete set of reagents including pre-coated wells, biotinylated detection reagent, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, substrate solution, wash buffer, and a recombinant standard calibrated for quantitation. Unopened components should be stored refrigerated until first use, and the reconstituted standard should be aliquoted to limit freeze-thaw cycles. The protocol accommodates multiple sample matrices and is intended for research use only, not for clinical diagnostic procedures.
