Description

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human Adiponectin receptor protein 1 (ADIPOR1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The target, ADIPOR1, is a multi-pass membrane protein that acts as a receptor for adiponectin (ADIPOQ), an adipocyte-derived hormone that regulates glucose and lipid metabolism, fatty acid oxidation and insulin sensitivity through AMPK signalling. Dysregulation of this receptor has been associated with metabolic disorders, making it a useful biomarker for studies of adiponectin signalling, glucose homeostasis and related physiological and pathological processes.

According to the manufacturer's data sheet, the kit uses a colorimetric sandwich ELISA format with a detection range of 0.78–50 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.32 ng/mL. Reported precision figures are an intra-assay CV of 5.5% and an inter-assay CV of 6.9%. Linearity in serum is reported between 89–110% across dilutions of 1:2 to 1:16, with recovery in serum averaging 100% (range 94–106%) and in plasma averaging 102% (range 96–108%). The assay is reactive with human samples and recognises both natural and recombinant human ADIPOR1 (UniProt Q96A54). Synonyms listed for the target include Progestin and adipoQ receptor family member 1, Progestin and adipoQ receptor family member I, CGI-45, PAQR1 and TESBP1A. The kit is for research use only.
