Human Acylated Ghrelin ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of acylated ghrelin in human samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method in a double-antibody sandwich format.

Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The kit reports a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and an assay range of 15.625–1000 pg/mL. Reported linearity values across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions are 86–104%, 86–101%, and 89–100% for serum (n=5); 82–91%, 84–101%, and 82–99% for EDTA plasma (n=5); and 88–91%, 91–99%, and 87–100% for heparin plasma (n=5). Recovery ranges and averages are 87–96% (91%) for serum, 88–94% (91%) for EDTA plasma, and 88–101% (94%) for heparin plasma.

Acylated ghrelin is described as a hormone involved in appetite regulation and energy balance, with the kit positioned for research into obesity, eating disorders, and metabolic disease. The procedure includes a primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, and TMB substrate development for 10–20 minutes, with absorbance read at 450 nm. Reagents are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.
