Human Activity-regulated cytoskeleton-associated protein (ARC) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA Kit designed for the quantitative measurement of human Activity-regulated cytoskeleton-associated protein (ARC) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The colorimetric assay is specific for natural and recombinant human ARC and is intended for research use only.

According to the manufacturer specifications, the kit delivers a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.076ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is reported as 4.3% CV and inter-assay precision as 8.5% CV. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with average recovery of 100% (range 94-106%) in serum and 102% (range 96-108%) in plasma.

ARC is described as a master regulator of synaptic plasticity that self-assembles into virion-like capsids which mediate intercellular RNA transfer in the nervous system. The protein is required for protein synthesis-dependent forms of long-term potentiation and depression, formation of long-term memory, and homeostatic scaling of AMPA receptors. Dysregulation of ARC has been implicated in neurological disorders including Alzheimer's disease and autism spectrum disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for neuroscience research.
