Human Activin receptor type-2A (ACVR2A) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the accurate quantification of human Activin receptor type-2A (ACVR2A) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses colorimetric detection, is reactive with human samples, and is intended for research use only.

ACVR2A is a transmembrane serine/threonine kinase receptor that forms a heteromeric complex consisting of two type II and two type I receptors on ligand binding. Type II receptors phosphorylate and activate type I receptors, which then bind and activate SMAD transcriptional regulators. The receptor binds activin A, activin B and inhibin A, and mediates induction of adipogenesis by GDF6. It regulates cellular processes such as cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis, with dysregulation linked to cancer, developmental disorders, and inflammatory conditions.

Performance characteristics reported for this kit include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.156ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.6% and inter-assay CV is 7.9%. Spike-and-recovery testing gave averages of 101% (range 95-107%) for serum and 103% (range 97-109%) for plasma.
