Intended for in vitro research use only, this Assay Genie kit enables quantitative measurement of acyl-CoA synthetase medium-chain family member 3, a mitochondrial enzyme that ligates medium-chain fatty acids to CoA for entry into beta-oxidation and lipogenic pathways. Because ACSM3 controls activation of medium-chain fatty acids inside the mitochondrion, altered expression has been linked to hepatic steatosis, mitochondrial dysfunction, and several tumor-metabolism contexts, making this target useful for studies in lipid handling, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and cancer cell bioenergetics. The kit ships with a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standards, biotinylated detection reagent, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer concentrate, and TMB substrate.
