Acid phosphatase 6 (ACP6), also known as lysophosphatidic acid phosphatase (LPAP), is a lysosomal enzyme that dephosphorylates lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), a bioactive lipid mediator implicated in cell proliferation, migration, and survival signaling. The Assay Genie PharmaGenie ELISA quantifies human ACP6 protein levels in research samples using a two-site immunoassay with a chromogenic, absorbance-based readout. Each kit is supplied with reagents for 96 assays and accepts plasma, serum, and cell culture supernatant matrices, making it applicable to studies linking ACP6 dysregulation to prostate cancer progression and altered lipid metabolism in disease models. The microplate is pre-coated with capture antibody, and the workflow includes incubation with standards and samples, detection antibody binding, substrate addition, and absorbance measurement to interpolate unknown concentrations from a standard curve. Researchers can use the kit to validate transcriptomic or proteomic hits at the protein level, screen engineered cell lines with modified LPA metabolism, and profile ACP6 abundance across patient-derived samples in oncology and metabolic research. Components should be refrigerated upon arrival and equilibrated to room temperature before use; reconstituted reagents should be aliquoted to minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Intended for research use only, the assay is not validated for diagnostic procedures.
