Human Acid Sphingomyelinase (ASM) ELISA Kit

Acid sphingomyelinase (ASM), also known as SMPD1, is a lysosomal hydrolase that cleaves sphingomyelin into ceramide, and altered ASM activity is studied in Niemann-Pick disease types A and B, inflammatory signaling cascades, and apoptosis research. The Assay Genie Human Acid Sphingomyelinase (ASM) ELISA Kit provides a quantitative immunoassay for measuring ASM concentrations in human research specimens.

Configured as a complete microplate-based kit with reagents for 96 determinations, the assay uses an absorbance-based read-out compatible with standard plate readers. Specificity is established for human ASM, and the kit is validated for serum samples, plasma samples, and tissue homogenates. Each kit is supplied with the principal components needed to run the protocol, including plate, standards, detection reagent, wash buffer, and substrate solution.
