Description

Designed for the quantitative measurement of human Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 1 (ACE 1), this Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie uses a double-antibody format with colorimetric detection. The assay is reactive with human samples and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types, offering a sensitivity of 0.469 ng/mL and a working range of 0.781–50 ng/mL.

Reported linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions (n=5) is 86–105% for serum, 82–100% for EDTA plasma, and 81–98% for heparin plasma. Recovery ranges are 89–105% (average 97%) for serum, 87–100% (average 96%) for EDTA plasma, and 89–99% (average 94%) for heparin plasma. Reagents and TMB substrate are equilibrated to room temperature before use; samples are incubated at 37 °C for 90 minutes to allow antigen binding, followed by biotin-labelled detection antibody for 60 minutes and HRP-Streptavidin for 30 minutes, both at 37 °C. Colour development with TMB is carried out in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance is read at 450 nm after addition of stop solution.

ACE 1 is a key enzyme of the renin–angiotensin system, which regulates blood pressure and fluid balance, and its dysregulation is associated with hypertension, heart failure, and kidney disease. The kit is suitable for research applications and the components are stored at 2–8 °C for up to 12 months.
