Description

A colorimetric Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative detection of human ACAT1 (Acetyl-CoA Acetyltransferase), an enzyme involved in cholesterol and fatty acid metabolism that has been linked to metabolic disorders including atherosclerosis, obesity, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The kit is intended for research applications in metabolic biology and drug development.

Performance characteristics stated by the manufacturer include a sensitivity of 4.688 pg/mL and a working range of 7.813–500 pg/mL. Reported recovery in serum (n=5) is 88–98% with an average of 94%, in EDTA plasma (n=5) 85–99% averaging 90%, and in heparin plasma (n=5) 85–103% averaging 95%. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions is 88–105%/87–105%/85–101% for serum, 82–97%/83–96%/83–100% for EDTA plasma, and 80–99%/86–100%/80–97% for heparin plasma (all n=5). Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay uses a biotin-labeled detection antibody followed by HRP-Streptavidin (SABC), TMB substrate development, and absorbance read at 450 nm. Reagents should be stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months.
