Human AANAT/Serotonin N-acetyltransferase ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit enables the in vitro quantitative determination of Human AANAT (Serotonin N-acetyltransferase) concentrations in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids, using a double antibody detection method. The kit is intended for research use only.

Quantitative performance includes a sensitivity of 0.094ng/ml and a detection range of 0.156-10ng/ml. Precision is reported with an intra-assay CV of less than 8% and an inter-assay CV of less than 10%. Spike-and-recovery testing across matrices yielded average recovery of 94% for serum (range 86-101%), 93% for EDTA plasma (range 85-101%), and 90% for UFH plasma (range 85-102%). Linearity was demonstrated by serial dilution of spiked samples.

AANAT catalyzes the N-acetylation of serotonin into N-acetylserotonin, the penultimate step in melatonin biosynthesis, and controls the night/day rhythm of melatonin production in the pineal gland. The kit is stored at 4°C for 6 months. The target is also known by the aliases AA-NAT, SNAT, Serotonin acetylase, and Aralkylamine N-acetyltransferase.
