This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie enables sensitive measurement of AAGAB, the alpha- and gamma-adaptin-binding protein p34, in human biospecimens. AAGAB functions as a regulatory component of clathrin adaptor complexes and supports membrane trafficking between the trans-Golgi network and endosomes, making its expression profile relevant to studies of receptor sorting, vesicle formation, and signal-dependent endocytosis.

Loss-of-function mutations in AAGAB have been mapped to punctate palmoplantar keratoderma type 1 (also termed PPKP1 or keratosis punctata palmaris et plantaris), so the protein is of interest in dermatogenetics research as well as in broader investigations of epithelial differentiation and keratinocyte biology. Researchers studying inherited skin disorders, vesicle recycling, or adaptor-protein-mediated cargo recognition can use this kit to profile levels in cell lysates, tissue homogenates, serum or plasma samples.

Each kit is supplied as a microplate-based assay with prefilled strip wells, capture antibody, detection antibody, standards, and substrate reagents. Components are shipped refrigerated and should be stored protected from light until first use. After reconstitution, working solutions should be aliquoted to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve activity across runs. Intended for research use only and not for diagnostic procedures.
