Human AADAT/Kynurenine/alpha-aminoadipate aminotransferase ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human AADAT (Kynurenine/alpha-aminoadipate aminotransferase, mitochondrial). The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a standard curve range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. It is validated for use with human serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with all components to be stored at 2–8°C.

AADAT is a homodimeric mitochondrial transaminase with broad substrate specificity, active towards aminoadipate, kynurenine, methionine and glutamate, and involved in the kynurenine pathway of tryptophan catabolism. Dysregulation of this pathway has been implicated in neurodegenerative diseases, psychiatric disorders and immune system dysfunction, positioning AADAT as a relevant biomarker in signal transduction research.

Linearity and recovery have been assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples at multiple dilutions. The workflow follows a standard sandwich ELISA protocol: equilibrate reagents and TMB substrate, perform primary incubation, bind biotin-labelled detection antibody, add HRP-streptavidin, develop colour with TMB substrate in the dark, and read absorbance at 450 nm after stopping the reaction.
