Description

This Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie uses a colorimetric detection method and is designed for the quantitative measurement of human A-kinase anchor protein 17A (AKAP17A) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human AKAP17A [C0, S2].

The assay provides a sensitivity of 0.045 ng/mL and a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL. Reported intra-assay CV is 5.2% and inter-assay CV is 8.1%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with serum spanning 85–95% to 117–127% across the dilution range. Recovery averages 96% in serum (range 90–102%) and 98% in plasma (range 92–104%) [S2].

AKAP17A is a splice factor that regulates alternative splice site selection for certain mRNA precursors and mediates regulation of pre-mRNA splicing in a PKA-dependent manner. The protein is a monomer and a component of the spliceosome, interacting with ZRANB2 and SFRS1/ASF through its Arg/Ser-rich domain, as well as with RI and RII subunits of PKA. It localises to nuclear speckles [S2]. The product is intended for research use only [S2].
