The colorimetric assay has a detection range of 15.6-1000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 12pg/mL. Performance characteristics include an intra-assay CV of 5.2%, an inter-assay CV of 9.9%, and the kit specifically recognises natural and recombinant human ADAMTS8.

In linearity testing across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16, serum samples ranged from 101-110% to 85-95%, EDTA plasma from 95-104% to 88-98%, and heparin plasma from 100-112% to 100-109%. Recovery averages 98% (range 92-104%) in serum and 100% (range 94-106%) in plasma. ADAMTS8 is a secreted enzyme with anti-angiogenic properties involved in extracellular matrix remodeling and tissue homeostasis, and its dysregulation has been associated with cancer, inflammation, and cardiovascular disorders. The kit is intended for research use only within the cell biology research area.
