Human A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 2 (ADAMTS2) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit enables the quantitative measurement of human A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 2 (ADAMTS2), a secreted metalloendopeptidase involved in extracellular matrix remodelling. The assay is intended for research use only and is suitable for a broad range of molecular biology and biochemistry applications.

The kit has been validated for use with human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and uses a colorimetric detection method. It delivers a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL with a sensitivity of 39pg/mL. Precision is supported by an intra-assay CV of 6.4% and an inter-assay CV of 7.7%. Average recovery is 99% (range 93-105%) for serum and 101% (range 95-107%) for plasma, with linearity demonstrated across serial dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma matrices.

Functionally, ADAMTS2 cleaves the propeptides of type I and II collagen prior to fibril assembly and does not act on type III collagen. The target is also known as Procollagen I N-proteinase, Procollagen I/II amino propeptide-processing enzyme, Procollagen N-endopeptidase, PC I-NP, pNPI, ADAM-TS 2, PCINP and PCPNI. Defects in ADAMTS2 are the cause of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type 7C, a recessively inherited connective tissue disorder. Specificity is established for natural and recombinant human ADAMTS2.
