Human A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 18 (ADAMTS18) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 18 (ADAMTS18) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with human samples only, with specificity for natural and recombinant human ADAMTS18 (synonyms: ADAM-TS 18, ADAMTS21).

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 34 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 3.9% and inter-assay CV is 7.1%. Recovery in serum averages 97% (range 91-103%) and in plasma averages 99% (range 93-105%). Dilutional linearity in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma is reported across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions. The kit is supplied for research use only.

ADAMTS18 is a member of the ADAMTS family of zinc-dependent metalloproteinases, secreted into the extracellular space and extracellular matrix, where it contributes to extracellular matrix remodeling, tissue development and inflammation. The encoded protein (UniProt Q8TE60) has a reported molecular weight of 135,167 Da and is located at chromosomal region 16q23. Defects in ADAMTS18 are associated with Knobloch syndrome type 2 (KNO2), and the protein has been investigated as a potential tumor suppressor and biomarker in cancer, arthritis and cardiovascular disorders. The kit is intended for Cell Biology research applications.
