ADAMTS5 (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin 5), also known as aggrecanase-2, is a zinc-dependent metalloproteinase that cleaves cartilage aggrecan and is widely studied in osteoarthritis and extracellular matrix turnover research. The Assay Genie Human ADAMTS5 ELISA Kit delivers quantitative measurement of this enzyme in human research specimens through a colorimetric immunoassay configured for 96 assays, using a two-antibody capture-and-detection format with matched antibody pairs raised against human ADAMTS5 and readout on a standard microplate reader.

Validated matrices include tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and a range of additional human specimen types, supporting cartilage degradation studies, joint disease models, chondrocyte biology, and inflammatory pathway investigations in vitro. Common applications include conditioned media from chondrocyte cultures, primary cell lysates, cartilage tissue extracts, and synovial fluid analysis in cartilage and arthritis research programs.

The kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate, recombinant protein standards, detection reagents, wash buffer, substrate solution, and a detailed protocol sufficient to run the full plate. A standard curve generated from the included calibrators is used to interpolate unknown sample concentrations. The kit is intended for research use only and should be stored refrigerated; reconstituted reagents are commonly aliquoted and frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles across multiple experiments.
