Human 85/88 kDa calcium-independent phospholipase A2 (PLA2G6) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of human 85/88 kDa calcium-independent phospholipase A2 (PLA2G6). The assay is reactive with human samples including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant human PLA2G6.

The kit delivers a detection range of 0.625-40ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.28ng/mL and is intended for research use only. PLA2G6 is an A2 phospholipase that catalyses the release of fatty acids from phospholipids and has been implicated in normal phospholipid remodelling, arachidonic acid release, leukotriene and prostaglandin production, fas-mediated apoptosis, and regulation of transmembrane ion flux in glucose-stimulated B-cells. Defects in PLA2G6 have been associated with neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation types 2A and 2B, and with Parkinson disease type 14.
