Human 5-HT1B/HTR1B ELISA Kit

A colorimetric, solid-phase immunoassay from Assay Genie designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human HTR1B concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. The kit uses a sandwich ELISA format with a double-antibody detection approach and is reactive with human samples.

Reported performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/ml and an assay range of 78.125–5000 pg/ml. Recovery was assessed in spiked matrices: serum (n=5) 87–102%, average 93%; EDTA plasma (n=5) 88–105%, average 97%; UFH plasma (n=5) 88–100%, average 93%. Dilution linearity (1:2, 1:4, 1:8) ranged from 81–105% across serum, EDTA plasma and UFH plasma. Precision is reported as intra-assay CV<8% and inter-assay CV<10%.

The target, 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1B (UniProt P28222; NCBI Gene ID 3351), is a G-protein coupled receptor that inhibits adenylate cyclase activity and modulates serotonin, dopamine and acetylcholine release, with implications for neuropsychiatric research including depression, anxiety and addiction.
