Description

Assay Genie's Human 5'-AMP-activated protein kinase catalytic subunit alpha-1 (PRKAA1) ELISA Kit enables the quantitative measurement of PRKAA1 in human samples. PRKAA1 is the catalytic subunit of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), an energy-sensing kinase that regulates cellular energy metabolism. It helps maintain cellular energy balance and supports survival under stress, and its dysregulation has been linked to diabetes, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders, making it relevant to studies of disease pathogenesis and therapeutic target research. The kit is for research use only.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 23pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.5% and an inter-assay CV of 8.6%. Linearity has been characterised in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at serial dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Recovery averages 107% in serum (range 101-113%) and 109% in plasma (range 103-115%).

The kit is validated for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids and is specific for natural and recombinant human PRKAA1. The protein (UniProt Q13131) is located in the cytoplasm and nucleus and is studied in the neurosciences research area. Listed synonyms include Acetyl-CoA carboxylase kinase, Hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA reductase kinase, Tau-protein kinase PRKAA1, ACACA kinase, HMGCR kinase, AMPK subunit alpha-1, and AMPK1.
