Human 4-Hydroxynonenal ELISA Kit

A competitive ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of 4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE) in human samples. 4-HNE is a highly reactive lipid peroxidation product and a recognised marker of oxidative stress and cellular damage, with roles described in neurodegenerative disorders, cardiovascular disease and cancer.

The assay is run as a competitive ELISA coated with antigen, with colorimetric readout measured at 450 nm. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The manufacturer states a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a measuring range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. The kit should be stored sealed at 2-8°C and not cryopreserved. Reported average recovery is 96% for serum, 93% for EDTA plasma and 95% for heparin plasma, with linearity values ranging from 80% to 100% across 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions in the tested matrices.
