Human 3 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase/Delta 5-->4-isomerase type 1 (HSD3B1) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human 3 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase/Delta 5-->4-isomerase type 1 (HSD3B1), a bifunctional enzyme central to steroid hormone biosynthesis that catalyses the conversion of pregnenolone to progesterone. Dysregulation of HSD3B1 has been linked to congenital adrenal hyperplasia and hormone-related cancers, making it a valuable biomarker for related research.

The assay is validated for use with human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Sensitivity is rated at 0.19 ng/mL, with a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/mL. Reported intra-assay precision is 4.4% CV and inter-assay precision is 7.9% CV. Linearity has been confirmed across serial dilutions (1:2 to 1:16) of serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples. Recovery in serum averages 95% (range 89-101%) and in plasma averages 97% (range 91-103%).

Specificity is confirmed against natural and recombinant human HSD3B1 (UniProt P14060), a single-pass membrane protein localised to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and the mitochondrion membrane. The kit is intended for research use only and is classified within the metabolism research area.
