It is reactive with human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Performance specifications include a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.33ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is reported at 4.3% CV and inter-assay precision at 7.1% CV. The assay is specific to natural and recombinant human 25-hydroxyvitamin D-1 alpha hydroxylase, mitochondrial, a mitochondrion membrane protein catalogued under UniProt O15528.

Linearity was demonstrated across serial dilutions: serum (112-120%, 99-108%, 114-123%, 93-105% at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16), EDTA plasma (103-114%, 83-95%, 106-115%, 106-116%) and heparin plasma (92-102%, 91-103%, 85-97%, 108-118%). Recovery averaged 96% in serum (range 90-102%) and 98% in plasma (range 92-104%). For research use only.
