The YWHAH gene encodes 14-3-3 protein eta, an approximately 28 kDa intracellular adaptor that participates in signal transduction, cell cycle control, and neuronal development. Circulating levels of this isoform have been studied extensively as a serological biomarker for rheumatoid arthritis, where elevated concentrations help differentiate early RA from osteoarthritis and other inflammatory arthritides, complementing conventional markers such as rheumatoid factor and anti-CCP antibodies. This Assay Genie kit provides a quantitative tool to measure 14-3-3η in human serum or plasma-derived samples, supporting translational research in autoimmune disease, neurodegeneration, and oncology, contexts in which altered 14-3-3 expression has been documented. Each microplate-based kit is configured for 96 determinations and is supplied with pre-coated wells, detection antibodies, buffers, and a recombinant protein standard for curve generation. Reconstituted reagents should be aliquoted and stored frozen to limit freeze-thaw degradation; refer to the enclosed insert for component-specific handling and shelf life. The assay is calibrated for human reactivity with no significant cross-reactivity reported against the closely related 14-3-3 zeta, beta, gamma, epsilon, or sigma isoforms under standard conditions, and is intended for research use only.
