Human 12-HETE ELISA Kit

A competitive ELISA kit from Assay Genie developed for the precise measurement of 12-Hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (12-HETE) in human samples. 12-HETE is a lipid mediator involved in inflammation, oxidative stress, and cell proliferation, with elevated levels linked to cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and inflammatory conditions — highlighting its relevance as a potential biomarker for disease progression and treatment monitoring.

The assay accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with a reported sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a measuring range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Detection is colorimetric, and the sealed kit is stored at 2–8 °C; cryopreservation is not recommended.

Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions was 85–104% for serum, 82–100% for EDTA plasma, and 80–100% for heparin plasma. Recovery ranged from 85–102% in serum (average 96%), 93–105% in EDTA plasma (average 100%), and 87–102% in heparin plasma (average 93%). The procedure involves biotin-antibody binding, washing, TMB colour development, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm.
