HSL (Phospho-Ser552)Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed for measuring levels of phosphorylated Hormone-Sensitive Lipase (HSL) at Serine 552 in cell lysates, and is suited to adherent cell samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm and shows reactivity with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. With a stated dynamic range of > 5000 Cells, the kit supports qualitative determination of HSL (Phospho-Ser552) through an indirect ELISA format, in which phospho-specific primary antibodies are bound by HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyse a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

Designed as a lysate-free, high-throughput assay, the kit can be used to screen the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on HSL phosphorylation. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is provided so that cell density can be measured and plating differences adjusted. Because phosphorylation at Serine 552 is known to modulate its enzymatic function, the assay is positioned for research into lipid metabolism, energy balance, obesity, and related metabolic disorders.
