HS1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie for the qualitative detection of HS1 (HCLS1) protein in human cells. Using an indirect ELISA format, HS1 is captured by HS1-specific primary antibodies while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody. Following substrate addition, HRP activity catalyses a colorimetric reaction. The kit is intended for measuring relative HS1 amounts in cultured cells and for screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, and activators on HS1 expression.

Detection is read at 450 nm with a stated dynamic range of more than 5000 cells, and components are supplied in a 96-well microplate format. A monoclonal anti-human GAPDH antibody is included to serve as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values. A Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method is also provided for determining cell density, enabling absorbance values to be normalised to cell amounts and correcting for plating differences.

The protocol is lysate-free, sensitive and suited to high-throughput workflows. The procedure is designed for adherent cells, with storage at 4°C and a stability of 6 months.
