HOXA1 Transcription Factor Activity Assay

Built around a microplate pre-coated with a double-stranded oligonucleotide containing the HOXA1 consensus response element, this Assay Genie kit uses a colorimetric readout to quantify HOXA1 DNA-binding activity in nuclear and cell lysates. The transcription factor activity assay format relies on a primary antibody against HOXA1 followed by an HRP-conjugated secondary antibody, with absorbance measured spectrophotometrically.

HOXA1 (Homeobox A1) is the most anteriorly expressed member of the HOXA cluster and is studied for its role in hindbrain patterning, cardiovascular morphogenesis, and oncogenesis.
