The Assay Genie horse TFPI immunoassay enables quantitative measurement of Tissue Factor Pathway Inhibitor in equine serum or plasma, supporting research into hemostasis, thrombosis, and vascular biology in horses. TFPI acts as the principal physiological regulator of the extrinsic coagulation cascade, using Kunitz-type inhibitory domains to neutralise Factor Xa and the TF-FVIIa complex. Circulating TFPI concentrations are investigated in equine coagulopathies, endotoxemia, laminitis, exercise-induced hemostatic shifts, and gastrointestinal conditions such as colic, where the protein C and TFPI pathways are increasingly characterised.

This equine-specific kit uses matched antibodies raised against horse TFPI, delivering reactivity tailored to the equine protein sequence with no significant cross-reactivity with unrelated equine serum proteins. The assay is supplied as a complete 96 Assays microplate including coated wells, detection antibody, standards, substrate, and wash buffer.
